Ok, so not sure how we were going to make it happen but we did it! Elia and I managed to make 19 personalized Valentine’s Day cards for her classmates this year. We did a pretty dope job, if I do say so myself. Inspiration courtesy of Comme des Garçon.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that one of my favorite and most consistent subjects is my daughter. Her imagination and exploration of the world brings us to places and creates situations that lend itself to photographic documentation. I’m not sure yet if all of this documentation will hinder or help her personality as it develops. What happens when I stop taking as many photos? Will she become one of those spotlight seeking attention hogs? What if I cause her to have an aversion to photography all together? Or hopefully, it will just be something that is integrated into her world, seamlessly and unnoticed. My muse has recently decided she’s not into having her photo taken at the moment (see above) and I am respecting those wishes. For the time being, I’ll turn my camera to the cold winter sunrises or the shadows that a 2PM winter sun creates against walls and buildings.
